Lake Ontario author Susan Peterson Gateley will give a short program on Lake Ontario’s forgotten female mariners based on her newest publication followed by a book signing. Gateley, a lifelong sailor and former fisheries biologist, has published a half dozen books on Lake Ontario’s history and ecology. Her most recent, the novel “Widow Maker,” was released in early 2019. She also scripted and produced a documentary on the lake that was released in 2016 and has since been broadcast locally and used in several college classes. Much of that work was filmed in Wayne County.
