“To Build A Courthouse”: An Exhibit of Ulster County Courthouse History through the Records of the County Clerk’s Archives

This year marks the 200th anniversary of the 1818 rebuilding of the Ulster County Courthouse. In commemoration of this two important piece of our shared history, the Ulster County Clerk’s Archives Gallery will feature an exhibit showcasing the records surrounding this momentous event.

This exhibit will commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Ulster County Courthouse. The exhibit will chronicle the Courthouse from its founding in 1661, to its present-day form in celebration of the 200th anniversary of the rebuilding of the Courthouse in 1818. The exhibit will feature Court Records, Jurors Lists, Board of Supervisor’s Meeting Minutes as well as illustrations from Schoonmaker’s History of Kingston and the 1875 Beers Atlas.
