Take a walk along the History Trail at FDR State Park! Learn the story of this land, find out about the men of the Civilian Conservation Corps who lived in the park from 1935- 1942, and the work they did to develop the land. Find out the exciting story of the Mohansic State Hospital for the insane that was housed here, as well as a railroad spur that was built to connect the Hospital to the New York Central Putnam Division line. See the remaining artifacts, buildings and remains from this period. Total distance is approximately 3 miles. Meet at parking lot # 1 by the pavilion.
