Self-Guided Tours of the Rogers Mansion: Visitors can explore the 20-room Gilded Age mansion of wealthy summer resident Samuel L. Parrish who founded the Parrish Art Museum.

Education Program: “Scrimshaw Art.” One of the many things sailors did to pass the time while on long whaling voyages was create scrimshaw art. At this program children will be able to see some examples of real scrimshaw art made by whale-men and then be able to create their own versions of scrimshaw art to bring home.

Candlelight Open House. The period rooms will be illuminated by candles to show furnishings that reflect the 1920s. On exhibit at the mansion is Hunting the Whale: The Rise and Fall of a Southampton Industry. This program is part of South Fork’s THAW Fest taking place the weekend of March 23 to 25, 2018 with 19 cultural and art centers promoting shared exhibits and events.
