From the Ashes: Kingston After the Burning

This exhibit focuses on the period of time immediately following the Burning of Kingston. The exhibit features records that show what the residents were doing to reconstruct their community and rebuild their lives and livelihoods. Documents on display include (among others) excerpts from the Trustees of Kingston Minutes c. 1777-1783, Oaths of Allegiance to the newly formed free and independent state of New York c. 1788, Revolutionary War Service Affidavits c. 1816-1820, and the Laws of New York State featuring the first constitution of the State of New York, ratified and read in Kingston.
