The first major exhibit recognizing many remarkable women from Woodstock's past, Gathering Woodstock Women: a Celebration of the New York State Women's Suffrage Centennial, opens at the Historical Society of Woodstock's Eames House Museum, Saturday, June 17 from 1-5 p.m. Scores of women from the early 19th c.through the early 21st c. are recalled in prose by community members. Photographs accompany each bio. The subjects are women from all walks of life who contributed to Woodstock's unique character. Like a joyful reunion, Gathering Woodstock Women a vitalizing experience that honors the female half of the town's historic population.
