The 4-5 mile loop walk, easy-to-moderate, mostly on the Old Croton Aqueduct begins at Rockwood Hall State Park, where we view the ruins of the mansion, purchased by Wm. Rockefeller in 1886, as well as beautiful Hudson River vistas, specimen plants & birds. We cross Route 9 on the Old Croton Aqueduct Archville Bridge (which also served as a carriage trail connecting the brothers' estates) and explore trails on the Rockefeller Preserve of John D. Rockefeller & view a major Aqueduct structure that crosses the Pocantico River. Directions to Rockwood Hall State Park: www.nynjtc.org/hike/rockwood-hall-sleepy-hollow.
