Join us for an Open House for the Overackers Corners School. A one-room school house built in 1874 and closed in 1937.
Overackers Corners School will be open 10 AM to 4 PM on June 17 and 18 as part of the New York State Path Through History Weekend. Come visit an 1874 one-room schoolhouse and experience what it was like to go to school in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The school was restored in 1998 with books and furniture from that era. In addition, you can ring the original school bell. Volunteer historians will be available to give tours and answer questions. The school is on the State and National Register of Historic Places.
On Saturday, June 17th in conjunction with the open schoolhouse we are hosting our second annual community potluck picnic at 2 PM. Come join us for an old fashion gathering.
