The Plattsburgh State Art Museum is an open visual art resource for the College, the Northern Adirondack/Champlain Valley region, and southern Quebec. Building on the philosopher André Malraux’s concept of the musée imaginaire, the installation program “Museum Without Walls” forms an aesthetic network across the campus that makes the arts part of the fabric of the College and community.

The Plattsburgh Art Museum comprises over 4,600 works of art and artifacts in several permanent collections of western and non-western art ranging from ancient to contemporary. The collections are displayed within our main galleries, an evolving sculpture park, and exhibition areas throughout the campus.
