The Life & Death of the Kingston Post Office:A Story of an American Community through the Eyes of an Architectural Gem
The 2019 gallery exhibition is a photographic presentation on the history of midtown Kingston, told using the post office (1908-1969) as a central character in a neighborhood full of history and stories. The exhibition tells not only of Kingston's history but that of America in the twentieth century, covering topics such as railroads, industry, architecture, transportation, stamps, innovations, and more. Featuring over 200 rare photographs, historic postcards, and artifacts, the exhibition was curated and produced by Stephen Blauweiss, a Kingston-based filmmaker and historian. Whether you grew up in Kingston or you are visiting the area, you will find a lot to learn and enjoy.
