Votes for New York Women (1917-2017), a Centennial Exhibit curated by our head research librarian Wendy Polhemus-Annibell, in our History in the Hall Gallery throughout 2017. When New York State women won the right to vote one hundred years ago, their civil rights victory changed the national political landscape and was a critical tipping point on the road to a constitutional amendment three years later. This year-long exhibit celebrates the centennial by narrating and illustrating the stories of Long Island women activists who dedicated themselves to the powerful grassroots movement.
On display throughout 2017.
Gallery Hours: Wednesday - Saturdays, 10:00 am - 4:30 pm.
