For centuries, the Hudson Valley has attracted intrepid artists to explore and depict its natural splendor. These views have then been collected, displayed, and impacted the way we envision nature. The Walks with Artists: The Hudson Valley and Beyond exhibition examines the key role played by artists in bringing views of nature indoors—in a domestic or gallery setting—while inspiring our own outdoor itineraries. All weekend long, participate in our hands-on Family Studio art and science workshops, see a planetarium show, and tour our historic home Glenview. Glenview Tours are offered at 1 & 3 PM. Planetarium show times are 12:30, 2 & 3:30 PM. Especially on October 7th, enjoy a stroll through Walks with Artists: The Hudson Valley and Beyond with Marcus John, a spoken word artist who will interpret what you see from his perspective. Tour will begin at 2pm.Especially on October 8th, explore the Walks with Artists: The Hudson Valley and Beyond exhibition with the Museum’s Assistant Curator, Ted Barrow at 1pm. Additionally, join in on a thought provoking lecture on Protecting Our Precious Water: Global and Local Perspectives with Marcia M. Brewster and Paul Gallay at 2pm.
