The Waterford Historical Museum and Cultural Center's exhibit for this season acknowledges the military history of the Waterford area, particularly in acknowledgement of the centennial of the end of WWI and the centennial of the opening of the Barge Canal and their shared connection to Waterford, NY. We have a children's area with games and activities, an audio tour through our permanent exhibit, and guided tours available! Chart Waterford's history from its native inhabitants, Dutch traders, colonial and Revolutionary War-era military importance; through the area's industrial development, immigrant history, and its growth as a canal town with the Champlain, Erie, King's Power, and the Barge Canal with the Waterford Flight of Locks. And so much more packed away in this 1830 Greek Revival historic house!
