Looking back at highlights from the earliest years of the University at Albany Art Collections, this exhibition shines a fresh light on late-Modernist abstraction as it relates to current trends in contemporary art.Artists include Josef Albers, Richard Anuszkiewicz, Jack Bosson, Alexander Calder, Chryssa, Gene Davis, Adolph Gottlieb, Sam Francis, Helen Frankenthaler, Donald Judd, Ellsworth Kelly, Jenny Kemp, Kim Lim, Conrad Marca-Relli, Robert Motherwell, Henry Pearson, Tim Rollins and K.O.S., George Sugarman, Peter Taylor, and Jack White. The exhibition runs from Friday, October 6 through Saturday, December 16, 2017. There will be a 50th Anniversary and Homecoming Welcome Reception on Friday, October 20, 5 - 7 pm. This event is free and open to the public.Museum Hours: Tuesday 10 am – 7 pm; Wednesday through Friday, 10 am – 5 pm; Saturday noon – 4 pm. Expanded Homecoming Weekend Hours: Saturday, October 20 and Sunday, October 21, 11 am – 4 pm. Closed Sundays and Mondays. Closed Thanksgiving weekend.
