The Edward Hopper House is the birthplace and childhood home of artist Edward Hopper (1882-1967).  Since 1971, it has operated as a non-profit art center and museum with a mission to preserve the artist's birthplace and foster community engagement with the arts.  Edward Hopper is one of the most important artists of the 20th century.  His unique vision has influenced countless artists, filmmakers, photographs, and writers, so that today, whether or not one is familiar with the name Edward Hopper, his imagery is a ubiquitous part of modern society.
