Details

President Ulysses S. Grant came to this Adirondack cottage to complete writing his memoirs shortly before passing away from throat cancer. Today, the cottage and its furnishings remain essentially the same as during Grant's stay for six weeks in 1895. There is also a short path to the Eastern Outlook which commands a spectacular view of the Hudson Valley, Adirondacks in the north, Green Mountains of Vermont in the east, and Catskills to the south. It is operated by the Friends of the Ulysses S. Grant Cottage.
