Founded in 1939, the Greater Oneonta Historical Society (GOHS), formerly the Upper Susquehanna Historical Society, and its Oneonta History Center in the Oneonta Downtown Historic District, strives to preserve the heritage of the greater Oneonta area. GOHS' programs, exhibitions, and collections familiarize area citizens and visitors with Oneonta's rich history, including its celebrated railroad past, baseball history, IBM, Hartwick College, SUNY Oneonta, Homer Folks Tuberculosis Hospital, and much more.
