Details

When abolitionists forming a state anti-slavery society were physically mobbed in Utica, it was in Peterboro that they found safety and support. This site tells the story of that event, and the formation of the New York State Anti-Slavery Society in 1835. The Hall honors those New Yorkers who played a critical role in the national anti-slavery movement.
